February Reflection: What I'm Taking With Me & Leaving Behind

February taught me a lot about myself, about growth, and about the way healing really works. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that just because you know you made the best decision for yourself, doesn't mean it won't hurt. Moving on gracefully is part of growth, but that doesn't mean if feels easy.
I also learned that bottling up my feelings only leads to resentment. If someone does something that hurts me, I need to speak up immediately instead of holding it in and letting it fester. It's uncomfortable, but honesty, both with myself and others is necessary.
So, as I step into March, here's what I'm leaving behind:
Procrastination, sadness, and fear.
Relationships that no longer serve me.
The need to have everything figured out before embracing what's new.
And here's what I'm taking with me:
Grace. I'm learning to be patient with myself.
A routine that helps me stay grounded. I now schedule my weeks and try my best to stick with them,
A small but meaningful habit. Reading at least five pages of a book before bed.
One moment in February really stood out as growth for me. I finally spoke up to a friend about something they had been doing for months that hurt me. I must admit, I didn't say it in the nicest way because of the built up anger. Instead of reacting negatively, they handled the conversation with patience, which softened me. A few days later, I called them again, this time pouring out my feelings completely and more gently. They acknowledged my hurt, apologized, and encouraged me to always handle things that way - by speaking up in the moment instead of holding back. That conversation changed something in me. And for me, That was growth.
What did February teach you? What are you leaving behind, and what are you taking into March? Let's reflect together.
