Pancakes, Cosy Vibes and a Little Indulgence: My Return to Double Dutch Pancake House in York

The first time I went to Double Dutch Pancake House in York, my friend introduced me to it and I left already knowing I would be back.

It’s one of those places that just stays with you. The warmth. The vibe. The kind of food that makes you slow down and just enjoy the moment.

I hadn’t been back in six months. Life had been loud. Fast. Full. But this week, I finally made time for a return visit. And honestly, it felt like falling in love all over again.

This time I tried the Fruits of the Forest Mess. A mix of fresh berries, crunchy meringue and white chocolate sauce that made the whole thing feel like a dessert you want to eat slowly just so it lasts longer. I paired it with a banana milkshake topped with cream, and yes, it tasted just as good as it sounds.

What I’ve always loved about Double Dutch is how it holds space for you. You’re not rushed. No one’s staring you down to clear the table. It feels like a place that wants you to enjoy being there. That matters.

They also offer vegan and vegetarian options that actually feel thought out, not just thrown together. So everyone’s covered.

I captured a little of that day in a video over on my Instagram — the vibe, the food, the feeling.

If you want to see it for yourself, Click here to watch the video.

It’s warm. It’s sweet. It’s everything that makes this place worth returning to.

If you ever find yourself in York or even near it, make sure you visit. Trust me on this one.
